Heather Ericson
Preschool


Heather grew up in Sandy, UT and has worked at Best Friends for about six months.  She has her Bachelors Degree in Family and Human Development.  Before working at Best Friends, she worked at the Sports Academy Kids Club.  She has also put together different preschools and reading groups.  Heather is married to her husband, Dustin, and they have three children.  her kids are Ryker who is 6, Rylee is 8, and Beckham, who is one year.  She is a huge Aggie fan, and loves snowboarding, playing golf, tennis and basically most sports.  She loves to read and go on family trips, and do crafts with her kids.  She enjoys running and plans to run another marathon one of these days!  Her favorite thing about working with kids is the funny things they say - also the love they have for life.

Favorite Childhood Memory:  The memory that stands out in my mind is a last minute vacation to California.  My parents told us to pack our bags because we were headed to Disneyland that day.  What more could one ask for as a child!?






Melia Balls
Preschool


Melia grew up in South Jordan, UT.  She stared working at Best Friends in January 2010 and works in the Preschool Classroom.  She has her Bachelors Degree of Science from Utah State in Elementary Education.  She has taught public school for ten years before working at Best Friends, and she has three children; 2 boys and one girl.  She loves to read, paper crafts, and being with her kids.  Her favorite thing about kids is to see the sparkle in their eye when they realize the just figured something out or learned something new.

Favorite Childhood Memory:  I used to walk to the park with my older brothers and we would have a contest to see who could swing the highest and then kick off our shoes the farthest.  The winner got an extra piece of penny candy from the corner market.




Emilie Larsen
Preschool


Emilie grew up in Tremonton and moved to Millville her Sophomore year of high school.  She has worked at Best Friends since July 2008.  She work with all ages, but mostly the preschool and 3's.  She graduated from Mountain Crest in 2006 and will graduate with her Bachelors in Psychology and FCHD in May 2010.  She is the oldest of 5 kids and before working at Best Friends she worked at Migrant Headstart.  She got married to her husband, Jared, in June 2008.  She loves reading, movies, going on long drives, and vacationing!  Also spending time with family and trying new things.  And shopping.  Her favorite thing about working with kids is that they are so honest and make her laugh everyday.  They're so fun and easy to love.

Dream Vacation:  We're saving up to go to the Dominican Republic.  I just love vacations!
Favorite Movie:  I love love love movies!  Favorites are Ever After, Disney Movies, etc.

Favorite Childhood Memory:  Going outside to play all day everyday in the summers with my siblings.  We'd make up games & play 'pretend' all the time.  We loved sports and almost every summer growing up we'd go to Oregon as a family and see the ocean and lighthouses, eat blackberries off the bushes go deep sea fishing, eat seafood, etc.  And the love for Oregon and the ocean and everything about it has been with me ever since.
